Friedman, Nemecek & Long was engaged to represent client after being charged with multiple counts of Aggravated Robbery stemming from an alleged home invasion. The charges carried gun specifications and mandatory prison time. After extensive motion practice and months of meetings with the prosecutor’s office, the case was resolved by removing all mandatory prison time. The resolution still carried with it a presumption of prison and a minimum term of 2 years in prison. After a lengthy sentencing hearing involving a variety of witnesses and the law firm’s presentation of the law, the Judge sentenced the client to Community Control Sanctions only. No jail or prison term was imposed.
