Conviction Overturned on Appeal
A local physician was indicted on multiple counts of rape based upon an alleged sexual assault involving a colleague. The client was convicted after a jury trial and sentenced to serve a significant term of imprisonment. In addition to the term of incarceration, the Ohio Board of Medicine revoked the client’s license. The client retained Friedman Nemecek Long & Grant to represent him in the appeal. Attorney Nemecek successfully argued that certain evidentiary rulings made by the trial court deprived the client of his right to a fair trial. As a result, the court vacated the client’s convictions and remanded the matter for a new trial.
