College Student indicted after traveling to engage in sexual relationship with woman believed to be of majority age in State of Ohio. Police revealed that age of female was under recognized age of consent and indicted young man. Despite extensive attempts to resolve the matter before indictment, including the successful administration of a polygraph examination and the sharing of persuasive online evidence contradicting the accuser’s claims, the State proceeded with a felony prosecution. Defense counsel Ian Friedman and Madelyn Grant mounted an elaborate online investigation that exposed fatal flaws in the government’s case. Moreover, it was learned that the grand jury process was flawed which required a dismissal of the case. Facing the prospect of a prison sentence and placement on the public Sex Offender Database, the client returned home free from any further criminal repercussion.
